Suzuki India Ltd's, leader in passenger vehicles segment in India, reported an
increase in sales for the month of December, 2017 by 10.3%.
The total sales of the company for December, 2017 was at 1,17,908 units. This includes 1,19,286 units in domestic market and 10,780 units in export market.
The compact size segment of the passenger vehicle segment saw the maximum increase in volumes by 23.2% yoy to 53,336 units in December, 2017. The compact car segment includes Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno and Dzire. The mid-size segment, which has Ciaz saw a down trend by 35.8% yoy to 2,382 units on account of new brand launches made by the company in FY18. The passenger segment sales increased overall by 8.4% yoy to 87,864 units in December, 2017.
The Utility vehicles segment of the company, which comprises of Gypsy, Ertica, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross saw an uptrend by 19.9% yoy to 19,276 units in December, 2017. The Vans segment also witnessed an uptick by 23.8% in December, 2017. The Total Investment & Insurance Solutions
